They kick, punch, gouge, scream, and hit each other with chairs. No, it’s not your nieces and nephews who came over for the holidays, it’s the stars of the WWE!
Our friends at Snakkle.com have pics of them way before they were known for their antics and insults in the ring. Here’s a look at these superstars of pro wrestling, when they were a bit younger, clean cut, and kind of adorable.
Born Mark Calaway in 1965 in Houston, Texas, this guy looks like the accountant for WWE instead of one of its biggest stars. Of course there’s one not so little thing about Calaway — he’s 6’10”! After stints as Punisher Dice Morgan in Japan, Texas Red and “Mean” Mark Callous, Calaway went onto bring joy then nightmares to the walls of kids’ bedrooms all over the world as The Undertaker.
So don’t let his high school picture — taken in 1983 during his senior year at Waltrip High in Houston, TX — fool you, The Undertaker will take you under!
The WWF’s new owner Vince McMahon used Hulk Hogan to transform pro wrestling into the phenomenon it is today. The father of Hulkamania is the most recognizable pro-wrestler of all time. Known for the Saturday morning hit Hulk Hogan’s Rock ‘n’ Wrestling and recently Hogan Knows Best, young Hogan (Terry Bollea) is shown here in 1970 during his junior year at T.R. Robinson High School in Tampa, Florida.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson started out as a football player for the University of Miami Hurricanes football team, went onto a brief stint in Canadian football, and became a 14-time WWE World Champion. He then stormed Hollywood to star in such films as The Scorpion King and Fast Five. Oh, and he’s also a New York Times best selling author. (Feel like you haven’t done a lot in your life now?) While we’re used to seeing him with his shirt off, he cleaned up real nice for this senior year photo in 1990 at Freedom High School in Bethlehem PA. You can almost smell the Drakar Noir…
